About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Accounting Clerk to join our team at BIRAK BERRY FARMS LTD. As an Accounting Clerk, you will play a critical role in maintaining the financial integrity of our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Record Keeping
    • Accurately record and reconcile financial transactions, including payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
    • Prepare and maintain general ledgers, financial statements, and other financial reports.
  • Accounting and Bookkeeping
    • Calculate and prepare cheques for payroll and other financial obligations.
    • Post journal entries and maintain accurate financial records.
    • Reconcile accounts and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees
    • Assist with immediate settlement needs of newcomers and refugees, including housing, transportation, and other essential services.
    • Support social and labour market integration of newcomers and refugees, including language training, skills training, and job placement.
  • Support for Youths
    • Offer on-the-job training and mentorship programs tailored to youth.
    • Provide awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for youth.
  • Support for Veterans
    • Recruit Veterans and other candidates with military experience through targeted hiring initiatives.
  • Support for Indigenous People
    • Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
    • Provide cultural competency training and awareness training to all employees.
  • Work Environment
    • Work 40 hours per week in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
    • Collaborate with a diverse team of professionals to achieve organizational goals.
Requirements
  • Education
    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Experience
    • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in accounting and bookkeeping.
  • Language
    • Fluency in English.
