Job Title: Cardiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiologist to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a Cardiologist, you will be responsible for providing a full range of cardiovascular diagnosis, treatment plans, and options to patients in the community of Red Deer.

Responsibilities:
  • Reside in and have your primary residence within the community of Red Deer
  • Obtain and maintain an AHS Medical Staff Appointment and appropriate privileges to provide the Services
  • Abide by the AHS Medical Staff Bylaws, the AHS Medical Staff Rules, and AHS policies
  • Establish and maintain a full-time community-based practice within the community
  • Provide call assistance as per call schedules, including full-time participation in the Cardiology call schedule, as required
  • Participate in quality improvement programs and initiatives undertaken within the Zone Clinical Department of Internal Medicine
  • Participate in relevant Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs
  • Contribute to and participate in other administrative responsibilities, as assigned
  • Work collaboratively with peers and care team colleagues in support of patient care
Requirements:
  • Have or be eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (required with application)
  • Have or be eligible for certification with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification (RCPSC)
  • Have specialty certification or equivalent in Cardiology, or be currently enrolled in a Cardiology Residency Program
  • Recent and relevant experience in all areas of practice required, as the Most Responsible Physician
Desired Qualifications:
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
