Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Form Carpenter to join our team at Uni-form Structures.

About the Role:

This is a temporary opportunity that requires 40 hours of work per week. You will be responsible for working with wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.

You will also be tasked with fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware. Additionally, you will schedule and coordinate work on sites, survey building locations and levels, instruct apprentices, supervise other workers, and maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings.

The ideal candidate will have 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in this field and be able to work at heights, in noisy environments, outdoors, and in dusty conditions.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Schedule and co-ordinate work on sites
  • Survey building locations and levels
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Supervise other workers

The estimated salary for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
