Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing quality services to patients, including prevention, identification, evaluation, assessment, diagnosis, counselling, treatment, management, and education of communication and swallowing disorders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide quality Speech-Language Pathology services to patients, consistent with discipline and professional standards.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and diagnoses of communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans to address communication and swallowing disorders.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients.
  • Provide education and supervision to students and professionals.
  • Participate in research and quality improvement initiatives.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited/recognized university.
  • Registration with the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Manitoba (CASLPM).
  • Membership in professional organizations, such as Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC) and the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience working with relevant populations.
  • Competency in an Indigenous language and/or knowledge in Indigenous customs, traditions, and values.
Work Environment

This position requires working in a fast-paced healthcare environment, interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals. The successful candidate will be required to work extended hours and may be exposed to infectious diseases, blood and body fluids, radiation, toxic materials, noise, allergens, physical and emotional stress, etc.
