About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Web Developer to join our team at S.i. Systèmes, supporting the development and maintenance of our municipal client's website.

Job Overview

This is a 6-month contract position, with the opportunity to contribute to the design, development, and support of digital experiences primarily for the browser, using industry-standard technologies and tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop new features for all properties associated with Kids/Staff/About the Club in both French and English
  • Enhance and maintain the existing website
  • Deliver all assigned work by project launch
  • Act as a technical subject matter expert, providing development support, issue resolution, and management
  • Maintain high standards of code quality
  • Participate in regular team and project meetings
  • Proactively identify product risks and mitigation, capacity availability, and continuity management
  • Create and update technical and support documentation, providing training to support team members as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A post-secondary degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant hands-on work experience in a development role, leading, designing, and producing web/mobile/enterprise solutions in a professional development environment
Technical Capabilities
  • Proven experience working within relevant web technologies, such as React (JavaScript Library), Astro (Static Site Generator), Strapi (Content Management System), Elastic Search (Search and Analytics Engine), PostgreSQL (Relational Database Management System), Docker (Platform for running, shipping, and running applications in containers), HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Demonstrated experience developing and integrating third-party Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), such as Google Books API, MailChimp API, Medallion API (Survey tool), and LingoHub API (translation tool)
  • Solid grounding in Object Oriented design and development principles
  • Demonstrated experience building server-side applications
  • Experience using a Unix-like operating system such as Linux and/or Mac OS
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of $90,000 per year, based on your level of experience and qualifications.
