Your Role


In the Terminal Foundations team, you will develop critical infrastructure, APIs, and toolings for Stripe internal and external users to securely communicate, authenticate, and observe devices around the world. Our team builds the underlying frameworks that enable Stripe and its users to secure and scale their in-person experience.


Key Responsibilities



  • Create systems that support users to efficiently and effectively communicate, authenticate, and observe devices.
  • Develop APIs and toolings to facilitate interactions with devices and users.
  • Solve complex production issues across services and multiple levels of the stack.
  • Collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, and stakeholders to bring new features and products to Stripe's Terminal users.
  • Maintain open communication and strong connections with colleagues in a distributed and hybrid team environment.

You have 2+ years of software engineering experience and can write high-quality code in a programming language such as Java or Ruby. You also understand good practices for building and working with APIs and can debug complex problems in a distributed system.


What We Offer


This role offers a competitive annual salary range of $134,400 - $201,600, depending on location. Benefits may include equity, company bonus, sales commissions/bonuses, retirement plans, health benefits, and wellness stipends. This position is available for remote work, with occasional office visits required. The salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Stripe and will be narrowed during the interview process based on factors like your experience, qualifications, and specific location.
