As a Part-Time Professor, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering courses related to Aviation Technician – Aircraft Maintenance and Flight Management programs.

Your expertise and progressively responsible experience in the aircraft maintenance field, combined with your teaching or training experience at the postsecondary or corporate level, make you an ideal candidate for this role.

Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver high-quality courses that meet the needs of our students
  • Engage students in the classroom and lab environment, ensuring learner awareness of curriculum, academic progression, and evaluation of learning
  • Provide a learning environment that makes effective use of available resources while incorporating various teaching and learning strategies to meet different learning styles
  • Evaluate student progress and achievement using a variety of evaluative tools
  • Actively contribute to and care about student success
  • Assist, advise, coach, and mentor students with course choices, career possibilities, and opportunities to continue their education at an advanced level
  • Contribute to the regular and ongoing development of the School's programs
Requirements
  • Completion of a postsecondary qualification (degree preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and industry experience) in a discipline related to the subject matter to be taught
  • Expertise and progressively responsible experience in the aircraft maintenance field
  • A Transport Canada issued and current Aircraft Maintenance Engineer license or a Commercial Pilot License with a minimum class 3 Instructor Rating
  • Teaching or training experience at the postsecondary or corporate level
  • Knowledge of and/or experience working with First Nations, Metis, and/or Inuit communities, with a focus on those in the College's catchment area
  • Knowledge of and/or experience teaching or working with International students/colleagues representative of our student population
  • A commitment to education equity to teach diverse student populations and work with colleagues or clients from various backgrounds
  • Proven ability to excel in a team environment and a demonstrated commitment to life-long learning
Preferred Qualifications
  • Expertise in both stand-up delivery and distributed learning
  • Curriculum and/or program development experience, including innovative classroom presentation techniques
  • Additional experience in alternate delivery strategies, student success strategies, academic advising, adult learning theories, and educational applications of computer technologies

In return for your expertise and passion for teaching, we offer a competitive salary of approximately $80,000 per year, commensurate with experience, plus benefits.
