Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director, Legislation to join our team at Tax and Revenue Administration (TRA). As a key member of our organization, you will play a critical role in shaping Alberta's tax legislation and driving changes that improve government operations and stakeholder experiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Legislative Change Management: Manage legislative changes and regulatory updates across all tax programs administered by TRA.
  • Policy Manual Management: Oversee updates to TRA's Policy Directives Manual.
  • Technical Guidance and Training: Collaborate with the Director, Interpretations to deliver technical sessions.
  • Legislative Advice and Support: Provide legislative advice and support to TRA's mission by resolving complex tax objections and delivering technical training.
Requirements
  • A university degree in a related field, such as commerce or public administration.
  • A professional accounting designation or law degree.
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with the legislative process and Alberta tax legislation.
  • Knowledge of administrative law and accounting.
  • Experience managing complex projects while meeting tight deadlines.
