BITS Recruiting is seeking a skilled Facilities Equipment Mechanic to join our team. As a Millwright, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, repairing and replacing equipment, and ensuring the overall safety and efficiency of our facilities.

About the Position:

The successful candidate will maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, take corrective action when necessary, and provide support to personnel involved in maintenance and production. You will also be responsible for monitoring contractors' work and keeping thorough records of all equipment inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining a comprehensive preventative maintenance program, including upkeep of property and buildings
  • Taking corrective action in compliance with corporate procedures and government regulations
  • Providing support to personnel involved in maintenance and production, ensuring high standards of safety, housekeeping, quality, internal service, efficiency, and cost control
  • Repairing, replacing, or fabricating mechanical and/or electrical equipment to increase productivity
  • Monitoring contractors' work in compliance with health and safety regulations and corporate procedures
  • Keeping thorough records of all equipment inspections

Requirements:

  • Certified licensed Millwright (Preferred)
  • 3+ years of work-related experience in trades such as plumbing, machinery, pipe fitting, mechanical, welding
  • Strong knowledge of federal/provincial environmental and health and safety legislation
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and manuals
  • Strong interpersonal skills and effective time management skills
