Job Summary:
The Rear Load Driver is a key member of our team at Fero Waste and Recycling Inc, a division of The Municipal Group of Companies, a leading solid waste company serving New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious individual to operate a Class 3, Rear Loader Refuse vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive the Rear Load tandem truck on assigned routes to fill contractual requirements, ensuring timely and safe completion of tasks;
- Perform daily pre and post-trip inspections of the assigned truck to ensure it is in good working condition;
- Communicate with the dispatcher to receive delivery instructions and updates;
- Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment under varying traffic and road conditions;
- Advise the supervisor of any maintenance or repair requirements;
- Report any driving infractions or suspensions;
- Complete end-of-day driver check-ins to ensure accurate paperwork completion;
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety policies and procedures;
- Protect and promote the interests of the company in all matters;
- Ensure the safety of fellow employees;
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Valid commercial driver's license with a clean driver abstract;
- Class 3 driver's license in good standing;
- Ability to follow a firm work schedule as directed by the supervisor;
- Willingness to work in a team environment;
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner;
- Compliance with all safety policies and procedures;
- Effective communication skills to ensure proper project completion;
- Strong customer focus;
- Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks;
- Previous waste and recycling experience is preferred;
- Residential curbside collection experience is preferred;
- Working safely is a condition of employment.
