Bennett Jones is seeking a highly skilled Specialist, Directories and Awards to join our team. As a key member of our experience management team, you will be responsible for creating, developing, and facilitating the completion of submissions to targeted legal directories and select awards and publications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a strategy for directory submissions, including researching and identifying opportunities for recognition and improvement.
  • Collaborate with lawyers, legal assistants, and other members of the business development team to improve processes and workflows related to directories and data collection.
  • Manage the submission process, including writing, editing, and proofreading submissions, and acting as a training and quality control resource for others.
  • Provide support for relevant awards submissions, including project managing, writing, editing, and proofreading.
  • Maintain a calendar of relevant directories and awards, and act as the initiator of these processes with relevant stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years' professional experience in a similar role, preferably in legal or professional services.
  • Post-secondary education in Business, Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, English, Law, or a related field.
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills, with experience developing and producing submissions to legal directories.
  • Excellent project management and critical thinking skills, with the ability to build relationships and credibility with lawyers and different departments in the firm.
  • Experience with databases and content management software is an asset.
