Job Summary

The Wood Construction Specialist will be responsible for preparing layouts in conformance to building codes, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling and joining materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials. The successful candidate will also build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems. Additionally, the Wood Construction Specialist will fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.

About the Role
  • This is a full-time position with 40 hours per week.
  • The ideal candidate will have 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in this field of employment.
  • A valid driver's licence is required for this role.
Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools.
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials.
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems.
  • Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware.
Requirements
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Accurate and efficient interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Judgement and reliability are essential for this role.
  • Team player with strong values and ethics.
Working Conditions

This role requires working at heights, in confined spaces, in noisy environments and with dust.

What We Offer

We offer competitive compensation, including an estimated salary range of $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on location and experience.
