Job Summary

Coast Mental Health is seeking a skilled Community Mental Health Worker to join our team. As a key member of our support and advocacy services, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and welfare of participants in our programs, utilizing the principles of psychosocial rehabilitation practices.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day support and advocacy services to participants
  • Develop and implement social, recreational, and volunteer programs
  • Ensure the safety and welfare of participants in our programs
  • Collaborate with the Program Manager to achieve program objectives
Requirements
  • Diploma in Community Social Service or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  • Recent, related experience of two years
  • Ability to provide or obtain required certifications and clearances
Knowledge and Abilities
  • Knowledge of housing issues and local community resources
  • Firm understanding of harm reduction approach and its implementation in a community-based setting
  • Demonstrated ability in crisis de-escalation skills applied in a team setting
  • Ability to work with individuals who are marginalized, underserved, and at risk of homelessness
  • Understanding of trauma-informed approach and psychosocial rehabilitation practices
