The successful candidate will work in a supportive, team-based environment and perform a variety of duties within Chemistry, Hematology and Transfusion Medicine as well as performing venipuncture.

About the Role

The Medical Laboratory Technologist will be responsible for performing routine and/or complex tests, utilizing manual procedures and automated instruments. They will also be responsible for entering data into the Lab Information System (LIS), related systems and programs, validating and reporting test results, maintaining instruments, preparing solutions and control agents, and contributing to training, evaluation and improvement programs.

The Queen Victoria Hospital is a Level 1 Community Hospital in the Thompson Cariboo Shuswap health service area. Located in Revelstoke, between Salmon Arm and Golden, the hospital offers services including acute care, laboratory, obstetrics, and emergency. Requirements

The successful candidate will have a graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Science Program, current certification with the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) and eligible for membership with the BC Society of Laboratory Sciences (BCSLS) and/or CSMLS, and one (1) year recent related experience. The candidate must also have the physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
