Clinical Epidemiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Epidemiologist to join our team at NL Health Services. As a key member of our Public Health Team, you will be responsible for conducting surveillance, investigation, and evaluation of diseases, health determinants, injuries, and conditions.

• Plan and carry out surveillance, investigation, and evaluation of diseases, health determinants, injuries, and conditions.
• Apply administrative and population-based data to improve the health status of the population and respond to public health emergencies and disease outbreaks.
• Use quantitative and qualitative techniques to collect, analyze, and report data, and track population and public health trends and developments.
• Provide expert technical advice and support to the PH Leadership team to assist with planning and implementation of programs and policies.
• Support and provide input on initiatives within the PH Department, and contribute to provincial, national, and international initiatives.

• Master's degree in Clinical Epidemiology or Epidemiology in a Public Health related discipline.
• Minimum of three years of experience in health care/public health research within the last five years.
• Experience with data sets and analyzing data.
• Experience with research software and Microsoft software.
• Experience with public health surveillance data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Significant clinical knowledge of healthcare systems.
• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in process improvement and change management methodologies.
• Proven management and leadership abilities, and excellent communication, interpersonal, and teambuilding skills.
