Job Summary:
The Government of Nunavut is seeking a highly skilled Project Accountant – Assets and Inventory to join our team. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate records of corporate capital assets and inventories, analyzing inventory levels, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Update and maintain records of all corporate capital assets and inventories, including additions, disposals, write-downs, and depreciation.
- Prepare audit schedules for fixed assets and inventory and follow up on audit inquiries.
- Analyze inventory regularly for non-moving and slow-moving items and recommend appropriate action.
- Reconcile the Corporation's accounts payable with the Petroleum Products Division's accounts receivable.
- Review and approve pending electronic fund transfers and cheque payments.
- Process invoices for completed recoverable projects and provide updated reports as requested.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or Commerce with a major in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional designation such as Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or similar.
- Five years of accounting experience, preferably in a project-based environment with a utility company.
Assets:
- Experience with public sector accounting.
- Knowledge of Nunavut, the land, language, and culture.
- Ability to communicate in Inuktitut, Inuinnaqtun, and/or French.
What We Offer:
- Competitive starting salary range of $98,014.44 to $114,488.13.
- Northern living allowance of $24,281.00 per annum.

Preference will be given to Nunavut Inuit.
