Ammunition Technician

Canadian Base Operators is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ammunition Technician to join our team at the 4th Canadian Division Training Centre in Meaford, Ontario. As a key member of our Supply Services team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient storage, packaging, and transportation of live and inert ammunition and related items.
Key Responsibilities- Selection, inspection, and preparation of ammunition issues
- Inspection and repackaging of stores received
- Receipt of stores from other ammunition facilities or manufacturers
- Vetting and completing supply documentation
- Conducting periodic ammunition inspections
- Inspection and segregation of aides-to-production, ammunition scrap, and munitions scrap
- Disposal and demilitarization of non-serviceable non-explosive stores and non-serviceable salvage
- Assisting in the disposal and demilitarization of non-serviceable, surplus, and obsolete ammunition and explosives
- Warehousing and repackaging of all stores in accordance with policies and procedures
- Preparing shipments of ammunition, explosives, and explosive components and general stores
- Originating transportation documentation in accordance with laws, policies, and procedures
- Ensuring compliance with laws and regulations concerning the handling, storage, and transport of explosives and ammunition
- Rank Qualified Corporal Ammunition Technician (ALGL) or Civilian Ammunition Technician (CAT) 2, minimum
- Current in AT trade-related competencies
- Current 3K Transport of Dangerous Goods certification would be considered an asset
- 6 years of working as either a military Ammunition Technician or Civilian Ammunition Technician or a combination of both
- Proficient knowledge and understanding of forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, 3-ton trucks with airbrake certification, Zoom boom (RTFL), and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to obtain and maintain a military 404 driving license
