A Security Officer is required to provide a safe and secure environment for patients, staff, and the visiting public at the Health Sciences Centre in Winnipeg. The successful candidate will ensure that laws, rules, and regulations of the centre are enforced in a prudent and reasonable fashion as they apply to security, fire safety, and vehicular and pedestrian traffic.
The Security Officer will detect and deal with unlawful acts, assist medical/nursing staff when requested, direct and assist visitors throughout the facility, and maintain an accurate record of activities of duty and properly document incident reports to ensure proper investigative action is taken.
Responsibilities:
- Enforce laws, rules, and regulations of the centre

Requirements:
- Minimum one (1) year of security experience, law enforcement or military background, or a related field
- Complete high school education, Manitoba standards, required
- Diploma from a recognized education facility for Security Officer Training, or a combination of previous experience in law enforcement or a military background
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Valid Manitoba Security Guard License and/or any future license mandated by Manitoba Justice to perform the duties of a Security Guard
