We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Construction Project Manager to join our team at PCL Constructors Canada Inc.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with project managers to ensure the successful implementation of PCL's safety program, including integrating safety protocols into all site plans and procedures.
- Supervise and direct project teams, including direct and indirect reports, to ensure the delivery of high-quality projects.
- Effectively communicate with stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and trades, to ensure that performance, productivity, quality, and safety requirements are met.
- Proactively manage potential problems, work interferences, and schedule conflicts to ensure project success.
- Liaise with field engineers, estimators, and subcontractors to ensure construction complies with drawings and specifications.
- Liaise with clients, other site contractors, union and labor relations, and site and office representatives to ensure effective project coordination.
- Develop and implement project schedules, identify critical paths, and anticipate constructability issues to ensure project success.
- Develop and maintain strong customer-focused relationships with all stakeholders.
- Journeyman certificate or undergraduate degree in a related discipline.
- NCSO designation required; enrollment in the Gold Seal program preferred.
- 5 years of progressive experience in field supervision preferred.
- Successful supervision of a construction workforce.
- In-depth knowledge of construction industry and company operations, including building materials, construction specifications, and methods and procedures.
- Understanding of project scope and ability to apply basic engineering principles and embed solutions in construction plans and schedules.
- Proficient understanding of scheduling software and ability to apply logic to build a plan.
- Ability to coordinate multiple scopes of a construction project, including scheduling, monitoring, and coordinating own forces work and trade contractors.
- Thorough understanding of productivity rates, Labor Cost Reports, and ability to interpret cost reports.
- Ability to complete material, labor, and equipment takeoffs.
- Thorough understanding of contract language and ability to identify and mitigate risks and identify and leverage opportunities.
- In-depth knowledge of safety and environmental principles/procedures/legislation.
- Ability to lead and run effective site meetings with stakeholders.
- Demonstrated conflict-resolution skills, problem-solving abilities, and professional judgment.
- Ability to develop and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and internal operational systems.
