About the Role

Carewest is seeking a highly skilled LTC Specialist to promote excellence in nursing and advance clinical care in our long term care sites. As a key member of our team, you will leverage your expertise to drive system change, develop clinical guidelines, and implement best practices in nursing care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead clinical team consultation and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to drive system change and improve nursing practice.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines and protocols to enhance patient care and outcomes.
  • Conduct audits and evaluations to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies for implementation.
  • Provide education and training to staff on best practices in nursing care and advance clinical knowledge.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of our clients.
Requirements
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nurse education program.
  • Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support – Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
  • Minimum 3 years of full-time clinical experience in continuing care, focusing on long term care.
  • Previous CCHSS auditor experience.
  • Previous LTC educator experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completion of Master's in Nursing.
  • PROSCI Change Management certificate. Change management modules.
  • Alberta Health Services Improvement Way (AIW) Green Belt certification.
  • Canadian Gerontological Nursing certificate (GPNC(C).
