As a Senior Construction Budget Manager, you'll play a key role in ensuring successful project development and delivery that meets all stakeholder requirements.

You'll be responsible for construction cost planning and budget management, partnering closely with our Construction, Development, Acquisition, Sales & Marketing teams.

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the Director of Estimating in developing and implementing standards, procedures, tools, and methodologies to optimize the construction cost planning and budget management practices.
  • Develop and manage construction budget through full cycle development and construction process for multi-million dollar mid-rise and high-rise projects.
  • Review and analyze design package and project requirements, fill in design gaps to ensure complete budget scope, identify and quantify budget risks and opportunities.
  • Function as a key liaison with internal project management team fulfilling construction budget management and cost control responsibilities.
  • Provide cost estimates to support cost-benefit analysis on Mattamy's strategic and sustainability initiatives.
  • Play a key role in value engineering to achieve cost efficiency in collaboration with cross-functional project teams.
  • Establish effective working relations with all consultants, contractors, suppliers and partners, on which we depend for the successful execution of the construction program.
  • Monitor industry best practices, market trends, emerging processes, and technologies. Share and implement the learnings internally.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the team.

Requirements:

  • Over 10+ years of progressive experience in estimating, cost consulting and construction management.
  • Post-secondary degree(s) in architecture, engineering, construction and/or project management.
  • Ability to perform quantity take-off in all trades discipline using computer software.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of construction principles and practices.
  • Strong numeracy and analytical capabilities.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, within tight deadlines and prioritize.
