About the Department

The Department of Political Science, Philosophy and Economics at Nipissing University offers an Honours Specialization, Specialization, Major, and Minor degree in Philosophy. The Philosophy program is committed to providing students with a comprehensive education in the field, with a focus on critical thinking, analytical skills, and ethical decision-making.

Job Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Philosophy, including introductory and advanced courses in various areas of the field.
  • Develop and implement curriculum for Philosophy courses, with a focus on innovative and engaging teaching methods.
  • Contribute to the development of the Philosophy program, including curriculum reform and program assessment.
  • Engage in research and scholarly activities, including publishing papers and presenting at conferences.
Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Philosophy or a related field.
  • Teaching experience at the university level, with a focus on Philosophy.
  • Research experience in Philosophy, with a focus on ethics and public policy-related topics.
