We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Commercial Litigation Counsel to join our team at Bombardier Transportation GmbH. As a key member of our legal department, you will play a crucial role in providing guidance and support to our internal clients in the resolution of complex commercial litigation matters.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with internal clients to investigate issues, analyze facts, and develop effective strategies to prevent lawsuits or develop strategies in anticipation of litigation.
- Manage Bombardier's litigation files worldwide by supervising external counsel, developing strategies, and participating in various phases of litigation.
- Attend depositions, trials, and mediations as needed.
- Handle Bombardier's obligations during the discovery phase of complex litigation matters, including employee witness preparation.
- Report to the Bombardier management team on the progress and strategy of litigation matters.
- Assume a leading role in risk management and use your leadership and soft skills to influence decisions and outcomes.
- Be a practicing member of a Canadian province or US state bar, preferably the Quebec Bar.
- Have at least 5 years of relevant expertise in commercial litigation, preferably at a renowned law firm.
- Display leadership skills, a strong level of autonomy, and excellent judicial instincts to make strategic decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Be comfortable working in a highly technical environment with engineering/aerospace concepts.
- Manage a busy schedule and be open to travel for business around the world.
- Be an excellent communicator, negotiator, and drafter with superior persuasion capacity.
- Have an interest in new technologies and be able to work in a constantly evolving environment.
- Be perfectly bilingual (French, English) both orally and in writing.
