Key Responsibilities
  • Process Control and Optimization: Adjust, inspect, and evaluate processes and equipment to optimize performance, maintain regulatory compliance, and minimize adverse impacts.
  • Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate and monitor the performance of system process equipment and related appurtenances, including valves, gates, pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems.
  • Record Keeping and Documentation: Maintain accurate records and documentation of all process and work area activities using manual or computerized systems.
  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Work effectively with team members to ensure efficient and safe operation of the water and wastewater systems.
  • Continuous Learning and Improvement: Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices to continuously improve operations and performance.
Requirements
  • Education: Minimum Grade 12 or equivalent, with post-secondary education in an environmental program or technical trade (mechanical, electrical, instrumentation) an asset.
  • Licenses and Certifications: Valid MECP Water/Wastewater operating certificate(s) and/or licenses as per facility requirements, and a valid Class G Driver's License.
  • Skills and Experience: Familiarity with environmental regulations, knowledge of water and wastewater treatment processes, and experience with process control automation systems.
Work Environment

This role requires working in a fast-paced operations environment, with regular exposure to water and wastewater systems, and occasional work in confined spaces. The successful candidate must be able to lift and carry up to 55 pounds (25 kgs) and work in a variety of weather conditions.
