Job Description: Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor

This is an exciting opportunity to lead a team of skilled professionals as a Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor at Ash Grove Cement. Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Manager, you will oversee the direct supervision of hourly workers and coordinate activities related to Raw Mills, Finish Mills, and other plant areas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Promote and enforce safety guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage health and safety protocols, adhering to legislation and corporate requirements.
  • Supervise and organize internal and external mechanical personnel.
  • Plan and execute maintenance activities and projects, including mill shutdowns.
  • Direct repairs for grinding mill systems during shutdown periods.
  • Produce notifications, work orders, and requisitions for materials and services.
  • Assist in preparing 5-year plans and annual budgets.
  • Determine training needs for supervised personnel.
  • Organize payroll information, vacation times, banked hours, and training schedules.
  • Coordinate with the engineering department on various projects.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
  • College diploma as part of an apprenticeship (millwright apprenticeship) or University degree in Engineering or another technical field preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a heavy industrial, manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of cement plants or other heavy industry operations and processes.
  • Occupational Health and Safety knowledge.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and mechanical terms and procedures.
  • Computer literate in MS Office software and specific applications such as SAP preferred.
Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $80,000 - $120,000 per year, depending on experience.
