Job Summary

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and prepare meats for processing or cutting
  • Cut and trim meats to meet customer specifications
  • Wrap and package prepared meats for sale
  • Remove bones from meat and prepare for sale
  • Weigh meats for sale and ensure accurate labeling
  • Cut poultry into parts and prepare for sale
  • Price meat products and ensure accurate labeling
  • Clean and prepare fish and shellfish for sale
  • Sell meats to customers and provide excellent customer service
  • Grind meats and prepare special sausages
  • Slice cooked meats and prepare for sale
  • Prepare special displays of meats, poultry, and fish products
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required
  • 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a butcher shop or meat processing environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production deadlines
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy objects
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
Work Environment

Our butcher shop is a cold and refrigerated environment with a strong focus on halal meat production. We are committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for all our employees.

Equipment and Machinery Experience
  • Experience with band saws, manual cutting utensils, power grinders, salami mixers, sausage machines, and slicing machines
Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities
  • Standing for extended periods
  • Physically demanding work environment
  • Permanent full-time position
  • 35 hours per week
