Procurement Specialist

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our team at the Eastern Townships School Board. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that calls for tender are compliant and providing support and advice to internal partners throughout the procurement and contract management process.

About the Role

The successful candidate will participate in the proper management of the procurement and contract management cycle, with the aim of ensuring optimal use of resources in compliance with the normative framework and internal policies of the school board.

Key Responsibilities

• Elaborate the definition of needs and the acquisition planning of establishments and services.
• Plan, draft, and implement all acquisition processes by direct request for quotation, by mutual agreement, or with purchasing groups.
• Ensure compliance of procurement processes.
• Carry out performance evaluations.
• Develop, implement, and ensure the continuous improvement of work tools, controls, methods, and performance indicators relating to the acquisition cycle, procurement strategies, contract management, and compliance.

Requirements

A bachelor's degree in an appropriate specialty is required. Experience in procurement, particularly in the public sector, is an asset. The ideal candidate will have excellent knowledge of the Loi sur les contrats des organismes publics and its regulations.
