To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • Admission to the Ontario Bar
  • Must have 2+ years of experience in routine and complex matters before the IRCC, CBSA, all divisions of the IRB and the Federal Court
  • Excellent knowledge of IRPA and of the Rules of the IRB and Federal Court and related case law
Main Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and managing complex and/or litigious immigration applications before the CBSA, Federal Court, IRCC. This includes:

  • Managing files from beginning to end
  • Researching law, procedures and keeping track
  • Applications for Leave and for Judicial Review before the Federal Court of Canada; Refugee Claims, Humanitarian and Compassionate applications, Pre-Removal Risk Assessments, Appeals before the Immigration Appeal Division, Refugee Protection Division, Refugee Appeal Division
