As a Project Coordinator, you will play a key role in supporting ongoing projects across the province, evaluating the current state of a building's structure and systems, and ensuring that buildings meet the standards specified in warranties.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma from a building, engineering, or architectural technology program and over 2 years of experience with contract administration and building inspections. You will have a strong understanding of project management, building envelope principles, and industry standards, including regulatory requirements and construction contract administration.

As a member of our team, you will work collaboratively with other members to make a positive contribution to the successful execution of projects and client satisfaction. You will also have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including condition assessments, field reviews of rehabilitation projects, and research of building materials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate the current state of a building's structure and systems to determine maintenance, repair, and/or replacement needs.
  • Assist the Project Managers with defining objectives and priorities.
  • Review documentation, including architectural, structural, and mechanical drawings, to determine original construction detailing and identify areas of risk for water penetration, air leakage, and/or condensation.
  • Conduct visual reviews of the building exterior and interior components, re-evaluating existing conditions.
  • Create exploratory openings within the building enclosure to allow for visual review of the underlying components.
  • Analyze and prepare written reports and presentations, fully documenting the current conditions, evaluating future risks, and providing recommendations for renewals, rehabilitation, and/or maintenance.

Qualifications:

  • Diploma from a building, engineering, or architectural technology program.
  • Over 2 years of experience with contract administration and building inspections.
  • Strong understanding of project management, building envelope principles, and industry standards, including regulatory requirements and construction contract administration.
  • Ability to read, review, analyze, and critique construction drawings and building envelope assessment reports.
  • Ability to estimate construction costs for new construction, renovation, and building envelope repair projects.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management skills while managing multiple and competing priorities/projects.
  • Driven, ambitious, focused on meeting deliverables with the ability to exercise good judgment and display initiative.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, together with strong critical thinking and decision-making skills.
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with contractors, architects, and consultants.
  • Advanced skills with MS Office Suite, including Teams, Office 365, and SharePoint.
  • Experience with reporting and/or data analysis considered an asset.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions with interest in energy-related building science.
