Job Summary:We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Sessional Instructor to teach in the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program at North Island College. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing the practice course NUR 276: Consolidated Practice II to a cohort of Option C BSN students.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and prepare learning materials for instructional environments.
- Use a variety of approaches and materials to address different learning needs.
- Teach in assigned subject areas and include all required subject matter or skill activity in courses and course outlines.
- Direct student learning in a positive, supportive, and caring environment.
- Be available to students regularly during scheduled office hours and classroom hours to discuss their progress and other issues that influence their learning.
- Registered Nurse with Bachelor's Degree.
- Master's Degree (completed or in progress) preferred. One degree must be in Nursing.
- Experience teaching adults, preferably at the post-secondary level.
- Current registration with BCCNM (inclusive of Criminal Record).
- Current CPR level HCP.
- Experience or interest with Indigenous health and/or global health is an asset.
- Experience using a variety of creative and motivating approaches to stimulate learning within a distributed teaching-learning environment and classroom is an asset.
- Ability to demonstrate effective team behaviours, support cooperative and effective working relationships, and contribute to shared team goals.
