Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join Harris' Onyx Senior Finance Team as an Acting Director, Finance. The successful candidate will have a professional accounting designation and be responsible for overseeing the finance function for a portfolio of Utility and Insurance businesses.

The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, with experience managing teams of finance professionals. They will also have expertise in conducting financial due diligence and oversight of the financial integration of new acquisitions, including intangible valuations and acquisition accounting entries.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage, coach, and mentor a team of finance professionals, including CPAs and CPA candidates
  • Conduct financial due diligence and oversight of the financial integration of new acquisitions
  • Research and provide analyses that support the decision-making of Onyx Group's senior leadership
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely completion of monthly financial reporting within the portfolio
  • Perform technical accounting analysis under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
  • Analyze, summarize, and present financial results to senior leadership
Requirements:
  • 7+ years of work experience in an accounting or finance environment
  • Experience building and managing relationships with direct reports and internal stakeholders
