About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Machine Builder to join our team at Innovative Automation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building custom automation equipment using output from our Design & Machining departments, as well as purchased parts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicate effectively with management, colleagues, and customers regarding project concerns, status, and potential solutions.
  • Install machined parts in mechanisms, machines, and equipment, and test their operation to ensure functionality and performance.
  • Create and manufacture solutions and details to complement the intended function of the equipment being assembled.
  • Operate the machine on trial runs to adjust machine settings, cycle times, etc., to ensure it meets customer specifications.
  • Perform functionality testing of purchased and machined parts.
  • Coordinate with the Electrical Department in the final development of the machine.
  • Provide regular and accurate written project assessments.
  • Organize and develop plans to keep the project on track.
  • Hold regular project meetings with all departments.
  • Ensure the machine functions correctly with customer products.
  • Collaborate with the electrical designer/controls developer to select the appropriate pneumatic and hydraulic controls for the projects.
  • Suggest, design, and alter pneumatic and hydraulic control circuits.
  • Responsible for tracking all alterations to the drawing package.
  • Perform installation and start-up at the customer site, along with training the customer on tooling changes, set-up procedures, and maintenance.
  • Maintain research and development from start of the project until commissioning.
  • Occasional travel may be required globally.
Requirements
  • Minimum Certificate of Qualification for a Precision Metals (General Machinist, Mould Maker, or Tool and Die Making) OR Millwright.
  • Experience in all aspects of troubleshooting/building automation.
  • Ability to lift weights reaching 50lbs, carry weights reaching 40lbs, and push and pull weights reaching 100-150lbs.
