Job Summary

The Grocery Clerk is a key member of our store team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, fostering customer loyalty, and actively contributing to an environment of employee and customer engagement. As a Grocery Clerk, you will be the face of Thrifty Foods, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Service
    • Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs and exceed expectations
    • Respond to customer inquiries and resolve issues in a timely and professional manner
  • Merchandising and Inventory
    • Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures
    • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of customer transactions
  • Store Maintenance
    • Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work areas clean and presentable
    • Participate in the training of junior staff
  • Other Duties
    • Perform other duties as required to support the smooth operation of the store

Requirements

  • Communication Skills
    • Excellent communication skills (oral and written)
  • Teamwork and Adaptability
    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
    • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and demands
  • Physical Demands
    • May be required to lift up to 20lbs, stand for long periods of time, and complete physical work including but not limited to bending, lifting, and reaching
