The Municipality of Red Lake seeks a seasoned fire service professional to fill the position of Chief Fire Officer and Community Emergency Management Coordinator.
This dual role requires exceptional leadership skills, in-depth knowledge of firefighting and building codes, and excellent communication abilities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the fire department, including administration, fire education, prevention, suppression, employee leadership, and rescue activities.
A post-secondary diploma in a fire service-related discipline is essential, along with graduation from the Ontario Fire College Company Officer Program or equivalent.
The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of progressive firefighting experience, with 3-5 years of leadership experience and NFPA 1001 certification.
IMS100, IMS200, EM200, and EM300 certifications or willingness to obtain them within 1 year are also required.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead overall operations of the fire department, including Suppression, Training, Fire Prevention, Maintenance, and Administration.
- Develop and implement plans and policies related to service delivery, ensuring a culture of collaboration, communication, and customer service among staff.
- Participate in local and regional emergency planning processes and represent the municipality at provincial and regional levels.
- Lead emergency management programs as Community Emergency Management Coordinator.
- Valid class driver's license.
- Post-secondary diploma in a fire service-related discipline.
- Graduate of the Ontario Fire College Company Officer Program or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of progressive firefighting experience.
- 3-5 years of leadership experience.
- NFPA 1001 certification.
- IMS100, IMS200, EM200, and EM300 certifications or willingness to obtain them within 1 year.
