Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Director of Logistics, Equipment and Procurement to join our team. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for aligning our national procurement and logistics strategy with operational requirements and corporate objectives.

Your mission will involve leading, organizing, and optimizing procurement and logistics operations across Canada by identifying regional opportunities, developing and managing stakeholders, and implementing national cost optimization strategies.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • A university degree relevant to the position or in supply chain management;
  • At least 10 years of demonstrated experience in progressive supply chain management roles;
  • Bilingualism (Essential);
  • Solid experience in team supervision and management;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills;
  • Mastery of best practices and methodologies in purchasing (Category Management, P2P, Contract Management, Supplier Performance Management, and Supply Chain Management, Material Management, and Inventory Management);
  • Strong operational, commercial, and strategic skills;
  • Highly autonomous and adept at managing emergencies;
  • Able to work in a Matrix environment to deliver regional and corporate results;
  • Willing to travel regularly throughout Canada and the United States as needed;

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Management: Manage the maintenance budget for all company equipment and the preventative maintenance program in compliance with transportation laws;
  • Analyze equipment based on condition, maintenance costs, and needs, and make recommendations for replacement and/or acquisitions;
  • Inventory Management: Establish and maintain inventory visibility and turnover; Determine and implement 'make vs. buy' and 'build to stock - build to order' strategies;
  • Logistics Management: Develop and implement robust methods and processes for receiving and shipping equipment in collaboration with our regional logistics partners;
  • Synergy Creation: Work collaboratively with the U.S. team to create synergy between clients operating in both countries;
  • Strategic Purchasing: CAPEX Management: Ensure the approval and monitoring of equipment acquisitions according to established approval levels;
  • Procurement: Transactional Procurement Management: Ensure the optimization and smooth running of the material requisition, quote request, purchase order generation, monitoring, and follow-up processes to ensure the required materials are supplied on time and meet the required quality criteria;
  • Performance: Define and implement key performance indicators to evaluate and measure supplier performance and manage improvement initiatives, in close collaboration with the quality and engineering teams;
