Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Northern Health Authority. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective management of medications for our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process medication orders in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
  • Verify the accuracy and completeness of prescriptions, including checking for therapeutic appropriateness and authenticity.
  • Prepare, process, and compound prescriptions as required.
  • Ensure the accuracy and completeness of dispensed prescriptions by verifying order entries and performing final checks.
  • Process prescriptions for temporary inpatient leaves of absence and transfer prescriptions to and from other pharmacies.
  • Enter and ensure the accuracy and completeness of drug and personal health information in the Pharmacy information system.
  • Maintain stock levels and perform clerical duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Grade 12 and graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician program or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current practicing registration as a Pharmacy Technician with the College of Pharmacists of British Columbia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to keyboard.
  • Ability to organize work.
  • Ability to operate related equipment.
