Key Responsibilities- Financial Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including ledgers and financial statements, using manual and computerized bookkeeping systems.
- Financial Analysis: Prepare and analyze financial reports, including trial balances and statistical reports, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Asset Management: Calculate and record fixed assets and depreciation, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts to ensure accuracy and identify any discrepancies.
- Computer Skills: Proficient in MS Excel, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, and MS Word.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in bookkeeping or a related field.
- Skills: Attention to detail, fast-paced environment, repetitive tasks, and work under pressure.
- Personal Suitability: Accurate, organized, and strong time management skills.
- Cultural Competency: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
- Mentorship: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers.
- Cultural Awareness: Provide cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers.
- Elder Support: Facilitate access to Elders who can offer support and guidance to Indigenous workers.
- Work Schedule: 35 hours per week.
- Language: English.
- Employment Type: Permanent.
