**Job Summary**

The Waste Processing Technician is a critical role within GFL Environmental, responsible for the safe and efficient handling, consolidation, and processing of hazardous and non-hazardous waste materials received by our facilities. This position plays a vital part in our efforts to recycle key components from waste materials, including used oils, aerosols, and filters.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Ensure timely and safe processing of waste materials.
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of trucks and containers.
  • Verify that incoming waste conforms to acceptance protocols.
  • Operate processing machinery and equipment as required.
  • Ensure adherence to safe operating procedures at all times.
  • Complete accurate paperwork and ensure its completeness.
  • Conduct job hazard risk assessments.
  • Promote a safety culture among all employees.
  • Provide exceptional internal and external customer service.
  • Perform general shop clean-up and maintenance tasks.
  • Other miscellaneous tasks as required.

**Requirements**

  • Class 5 driver's license with reliable transportation.
  • Ability to perform moderately labor-intensive and repetitious tasks.
  • Physical fitness to lift over 50 pounds and stand on cement for extended periods.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to complete meticulous paperwork.
  • Planning and organizational skills.
  • Ability to analyze, identify, and solve problems.
  • Able to work independently and in a team environment.
