The Dawson Group is seeking a highly skilled Asset Management Specialist to join our team. As an Asset Management Specialist, you will play a critical role in planning, coordinating, and directing the life cycle management of all equipment for effective maintenance and repair programs, equipment safety programs, and equipment tracking and utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a long-term asset management strategy to ensure maximum efficiency and ROI.
  • Implement an electronic management system and coordinate equipment replacement strategies to optimize asset utilization.
  • Conduct equipment procurement and disposal, ensuring compliance with safety standards and practices.
  • Oversee the location and movement of equipment between business units, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Monitor asset performance, including lifecycle and utilization, to identify areas for improvement.
  • Work closely with Equipment Maintenance Managers and Superintendents to align asset planning with overall business objectives.
  • Analyze asset data and trends to forecast future asset needs and requirements.
  • Monitor and manage equipment operating costs, identifying opportunities for cost savings.
  • Prepare and manage budgets for asset acquisition, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses and prepare financial reports related to asset management.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend strategies to reduce expenses.
  • Consult and collaborate with stakeholders regarding procurement strategy for equipment.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on purchase, rental, or lease decisions.

Requirements

  • Related University degree or College diploma, Red Seal Trade Certificate.
  • Minimum of 5 years asset or material management experience, preferably in the equipment rental industry or construction equipment industry.
  • Proven experience in asset management, planning, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction equipment maintenance, construction equipment service department operational procedures and processes.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and practices in a shop environment.
  • Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Office, asset management software, and other relevant ERP applications.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
