Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures in accordance with departmental protocol and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform Magnetic Resonance Imaging procedures as outlined in the protocol/procedure manuals.
  • Operate, troubleshoot, and ensure that medical imaging and ancillary equipment are performing in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Prepare written and electronic reports required to document all procedures and test results; attend meetings as required.
  • Assist in preparation of manuscripts and grant applications, data processing, responsible for teaching, training, educational, research, safety, and quality improvement programs/activities.
  • Observe and understand Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and design imaging policies and procedures that will result in improvements in technical quality.
  • Adhere to Hospital and departmental mission and value statements while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Perform other related patient care responsibilities to facilitate the provision of optimal patient care and cross-functional responsibilities as assigned, or requested.
Qualifications
  • Registration with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO)
  • Completion of a recognized post-diploma program in MRI, or recognized equivalent with MRI certification
  • Current RTMR certification, BCLS, and Level II: Basic Rescuer certification required
  • Cross-sectional Anatomy and Contrast injection course required
  • Proficient with Word and using a computer
  • Excellent problem recognition, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member
  • Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position
  • Satisfactory employment and attendance record required
