Senior Server-Side Developer for Mobile Applications

At Trails End Taphouse & Restaurant, we are seeking a skilled Senior Server-Side Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in designing and developing server-side components of mobile applications using Python, Node.js, or other back-end programming languages. This role is crucial in delivering high-performance, scalable, and secure mobile applications that provide exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • We are looking for someone who can design and develop the back-end server infrastructure and APIs that support mobile applications, ensuring seamless integration between the mobile app and server infrastructure.
  • The successful candidate will implement server-side logic to handle requests, data processing, and database interactions, optimizing server performance to ensure quick response times and efficient resource utilization.
  • You will create RESTful or GraphQL APIs that enable communication between the mobile app and the server, defining API endpoints and ensuring they are well-documented for consumption by front-end developers and third-party services.
  • We require a developer who can implement authentication and authorization mechanisms to secure API endpoints, design and maintain databases to store and retrieve data required by mobile applications, and optimize database queries and indexes for efficient data retrieval and storage.
  • Ensuring data integrity, security, and scalability of the database system is also a critical aspect of this role, as is collaborating closely with front-end developers to ensure smooth integration of server-side components with mobile apps.
  • We need someone who can work with third-party services and APIs for additional functionality, such as payment gateways or external data sources, monitor and analyze server performance, identifying bottlenecks and implementing optimizations.
  • Additionally, the successful candidate will plan and implement strategies for scaling the server infrastructure as user and data volumes grow, implement security best practices to protect user data, prevent unauthorized access, and defend against common web vulnerabilities.
  • Staying updated with the latest security threats and applying necessary patches and updates is also essential for this role, as is writing unit tests and conducting testing to ensure the reliability and correctness of server-side code.
  • Collaborating with QA teams to identify and address issues and bugs, documenting server-side code, APIs, and database schemas for the benefit of other team members, and maintaining clear and up-to-date documentation of the server infrastructure are also key responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) is required.
  • Proven experience in back-end development, including server-side programming languages (e.g., Python, Node.js, Ruby, Java), strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL), and proficiency in RESTful or GraphQL API development.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and containerization (e.g Docker) is a plus, as is understanding of mobile app development and knowledge of mobile platforms (iOS and Android).
  • Familiarity with security best practices and common web vulnerabilities, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work well in a collaborative team environment are also essential qualifications.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders are also highly valued.
Salary:

$85,000 - $115,000 per year, depending on experience.
