Job Title: Foot Care Specialist

RhynoCare is seeking a skilled and compassionate Foot Care Specialist to provide specialized foot care services in long-term care facilities.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced nurse to join our team as a Foot Care Specialist. As a Foot Care Specialist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive foot assessments, medical foot care services, and patient education to residents in long-term care facilities.

Responsibilities:
  • Perform comprehensive foot assessments for clients with various health conditions and foot-related concerns.
  • Provide medical foot care services such as general foot care, nail trimming and filing, diabetic foot care, non-surgical ingrown toenail removal, thick nail reduction, corn removal, and callus reduction.
  • Educate patients and their families on proper foot hygiene and best routine care practices.
  • Develop personalized patient care plans in collaboration with the clinic team.
  • Monitor and document changes in clients' foot health by electronic charting on Point Click Care (PCC).
  • Develop rapport with patients and ensure positive patient experiences.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Conduct treatments in residents' rooms to ensure privacy.
  • Work effectively with residents who may have cognitive decline or challenges in understanding.
Requirements:
  • Currently registered and in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO).
  • Advanced and Diabetic Foot Care Certification is required.
  • Prior experience in foot care is an asset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid G driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Computer knowledge and the ability to learn proprietary software. Proficiency in Microsoft Word preferred.
