Job Description:

We are seeking applicants to fill Registered Nurse (RN) positions located throughout the state of California in support of medical readiness services for the California Army National Guard (CAARNG). Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays, at varying sites throughout California.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the CAARNG. This includes administering vaccines, conducting electrocardiograms, and ensuring all actions comply with HIPAA and other applicable laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up, take down, and maintenance of workstation equipment
  • Review documentation and medical information to identify required immunization needs
  • Provide leadership and direction to the immunization and lab teams when required
  • Manage immunization cold-chain process and ensure vaccine is maintained and recorded to follow cold-chain requirements
  • Educate soldiers about immunizations or requirements they are undertaking by addressing risks and/or questions they may have
  • Administer vaccines and briefly monitor soldiers for reactions or side effects
  • Provide Electrocardiograms as requested
  • Work collaboratively with event personnel
  • Safeguard all soldiers' information

Qualifications:

  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse in California, with no restrictions
  • Have a valid US driver's license
  • CPR/BLS certification
  • 5+ years of experience as an RN in a healthcare setting
  • Lab and testing subject matter expertise is preferred
