Cross Creek Contracting Inc. is seeking a skilled Tile Setter to join our team for commercial and residential projects. The ideal candidate will have experience with mosaic and ceramic tile installation, as well as wall and floor tile installation.
Key Responsibilities:- Prepare, measure, and mark surfaces to be covered with tile
- Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, mastic, glue, or other adhesives using a hand trowel
- Set tiles in place and apply pressure to affix them to the base
- Align and straighten tiles
- Prepare tenders and quotations
- Cut and fit tiles around obstacles and openings using hand and power cutting tools
- Pack grout into joints between tiles and remove excess grout
- Remove and replace cracked or damaged tiles
- Build underbeds and install anchor bolts, wires, and brackets
- Estimate costs and materials
Work Environment: The work site environment is dusty, and the work setting is commercial and residential. The work conditions and physical capabilities require the ability to bend, crouch, kneel, and have attention to detail and hand-eye coordination.
Personal Suitability: The ideal candidate will be accurate, client-focused, reliable, and have a strong work ethic. The work term is permanent, and the work language is English. The hours of work are 30 hours per week.
