Housekeeping Services Operations Coordinator

Job Summary
The Housekeeping Services Operations Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of housekeeping services and staff within designated sites. This role participates in program and service delivery, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The Coordinator coordinates the implementation of new systems, initiatives, policies, and procedures. They participate on various committees as required.
Key Responsibilities
- Administers housekeeping service staff within designated sites by coordinating recruitment and hiring, establishing schedules and work assignments, determining training and orientation requirements, overseeing and monitoring performance evaluations, and taking corrective action when necessary.
- Participates in the development of evaluation criteria for newly developed and/or ongoing housekeeping services.
- Provides input into organizational structures to ensure the operational needs of designated sites are reflected.
- Coordinates the implementation of new and/or revised policies and procedures and monitors compliance.
- Participates in the planning and management of operating budgets for assigned areas.
- Promotes sound interdepartmental relationships through effective communication with user departments to maintain and/or improve services, facilitate consensus, and resolve issues.
- Participates in the monitoring, analysis, and reporting of quality assurance and control imperatives for housekeeping services.
- Assists in implementing, managing, and conducting audit programs.
- Interprets and administers collective agreements.
- Participates in the investigation of, and response to, grievances and routine, confidential employee issues.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a Diploma in Business Administration or a related discipline, plus a minimum three recent related experiences in a healthcare environment, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. They will also possess the LEADS Capabilities and Professional/Technical Capabilities outlined in the job description.
