We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team at PR Pomeroy Restoration & Construction (BC) Inc. As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for preparing layouts, measuring, cutting, shaping, assembling, and joining materials to build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes using measuring tools
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
- Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
- Fitting and installing windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
- Maintaining, repairing, and renovating residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
- Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience
- 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
- Ability to work at heights, in dusty environments, and outdoors
- Physical demands include bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, and physically demanding tasks
- Own tools and equipment, including hand tools, safety equipment, steel-toed safety boots, hard hat, and safety glasses/goggles
This is an on-the-road job with various locations, including construction sites, mills, mines, hospitals, and industrial plants.
