Job Title: Patrolperson

The Town of Ajax is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patrolperson to join our Public Works team. As a key member of our road maintenance crew, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our road network.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform scheduled inspections of roadways and infrastructure to ensure compliance with the Ontario Minimum Maintenance Standards.
  • Operate a variety of road maintenance equipment, including snowplows, graders, and sweepers.
  • Conduct repairs to infrastructure, including pothole patching, roadside debris collection, and ditching.
  • Provide excellent customer service to the public, responding to inquiries and concerns in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve service level objectives and maintain a safe and efficient work environment.
Requirements:
  • Secondary School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in roadway construction or municipal roadway maintenance.
  • Valid Ontario Class DZ Driver's License with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
