Key Responsibilities:
  1. Project Documentation Review: Provide a thorough review of project documentation, including design requirements
  2. Consultant Management: Play a key role in managing consultants throughout the proposal and execution phases
  3. Design Procedure Development: Develop and implement design procedures to ensure quality and conformity to client requirements
  4. Value Engineering: Lead value engineering and optimization processes to create winning design strategies
  5. Collaboration: Collaborate with method engineers, construction department, and technical experts to create buildable, safe, efficient, and sustainable designs
  6. Estimation Support: Support estimation team by providing suitable designs and technical information for project estimation and tracking quantity movements during design development
  7. Design Planning: Manage design planning, monitoring, and closing through effective organizational and time management skills
  8. Proposal Submissions: Participate in proposal submissions, design presentations, and design review submissions with the proposal and project teams
Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a similar role on large-scale building or infrastructure projects
  • Established concepts and management of multidisciplinary design teams
  • Initiative, innovation, discipline, and leadership in planning and delivery of designs
  • Strong knowledge of construction, project management, and scheduling
  • Outstanding leadership and organizational skills with influence over others
  • Proven interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Strategic thinking and ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Familiarity with Building Information Modeling-Virtual Design Construction (BIM-VDC) models
Ideal Candidate:
  • Local Canadian experience preferred (minimum one year local experience)
  • Exceptional overseas candidates requiring sponsorship may be considered
  • Clearly highlight relevant work experience, project overviews, and project scale in your resume
