Job Description

A Heavy Duty Mechanic - Equipment Maintenance Specialist is required to join our team at Trican.

About the Role

This role involves ensuring the safety and integrity of our equipment, as well as performing routine maintenance work. The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Inspecting and examining vehicles and equipment to identify potential issues
  • Servicing, diagnosing, repairing, assembling, and maintaining vehicles
  • Keeping up-to-date with industry standards and regulations
  • Providing guidance and instruction to less experienced operators
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • 3rd or 4th Year Apprentice or Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic certification
  • CVIP is considered an asset
  • Field mechanic experience is a plus
  • A valid Class 1 license is preferred, but we will consider Class 3 or 5
  • Heavy Equipment Technician experience is an asset
  • Safe driving skills and a driver's abstract will be requested
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Working Conditions

The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with variable weather conditions, and will be required to live near the base of employment. Pre-employment medical testing is also required.
