About the Role:

Flynn Canada Ltd. is seeking a skilled Roofing Apprentice to join our team. As a key member of our roofing crew, you will be responsible for installing and repairing various types of roofing systems, including built-up roofing systems, single-ply roofing systems, and metal roofs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install built-up roofing systems using materials such as asphalt saturated felts and hot asphalt and gravel
  • Install or replace asphalt shingles, wood shingles and shakes and masonry or baked clay roofing tiles on sloped roofs of buildings
  • Install single-ply roofing system using waterproof sheet materials, such as modified plastics, elastomeric or other asphaltic compositions
  • Repair or replace single-ply roofing systems
  • Instruct apprentices
  • Install and repair metal roofs using hand and power tools

Work Environment:

As a Roofing Apprentice, you will work in a fast-paced environment with physically demanding tasks. You will be required to work at heights, in noisy and dusty conditions, and outdoors. You will also be required to handle heavy loads and work under pressure.

Requirements:

  • No degree, certificate or diploma required
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Ability to work in a team environment
